Man kills 8-day-old step-daughter for rituals in Delta State

Wonders shall never end, so goes a popular saying. Jesse, a suburb of Delta State was over the weekend clothed with mournful garb as an eight-day-old baby girl was reportedly killed by her stepfather for ritual purposes.
The self-confessed suspect said that he carried out the heinous act on the orders of a spiritualist in Ghana, is currently cooling his heel in the police custody.
Confirming the incident, Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka said: “One Mrs. Gladys Emafuru, female, of Okunu village Jesse, reported that at 15:10 hours, while sleeping with her eight-day- old baby girl, the child’s step father (names withheld) 24 years old, walked into the apartment and killed the baby with a cutlass, opened the stomach and collected the intestines and other vital parts.”
Speaking further, Muka revealed that: “The suspect after collecting the vital parts of the baby, concealed them in a black cellophane bag and was about escaping to Ghana when he was caught. He has confessed committing the act, saying that it was demanded for in Ghana
