Rooney priority is new Man Utd contract

Wayne Rooney sees his future at Manchester United.
The Daily Mail says it is understood that the 27-year-old wants to sit down with United at the end of this season and discuss an extension to a contract that will by then have two years to run.
Negotiations with the soon-to-be-crowned Barclays Premier League champions are likely to be lengthy and complicated.
Rooney will no doubt wish to remain on the same wage that he agreed when signing a deal worth in excess of £200,000-a-week in October 2010 while United will initially offer the England star a lower basic with a greater proportion of performance-related pay.
Nevertheless, with both sides keen to agree a new deal it would seem that Rooney’s future will only lie away from United in the unlikely event of United and his advisors simply not reaching a compromise.
